SURGICAL CO2 LASER

 

The surgical CO2 laser is the modern proposal for the destruction of benign skin lesions which tends to replace the classical diathermocoagulation (destruction with current). It offers greater finesse and precision in controlling damage reduction. The results are immediate and mainly bloodless as the laser also offers very good hemostasis.

Therapeutic uses of CO2 surgical LASER:

· Tingling (face, palms, soles)

· Acute warts

· Sebaceous hyperkeratosis - hives

· Papillomas (neck, armpits)

· Eyelid patches

· Pyogenic granulomas

Radiant hyperkeratosis of the face

Surgical CO2 is used to treat verruca vulgaris (that means common warts usually located on face, palms and soles). Also seborrheic keratoses (dark colored hyperkeratotic lesions located on the body and the face resembling "moles"), actinic keratoses (thick scales on the face, hands and other locations on sun-exposed skin). It is highly effective on treating papillomas (small hanging lesions like "moles" usually located on areas with friction like the neck, armpits or under the breast), xanthelasmata (small lipid sacks located on the eyelids). Finally it is the best way to treat the sexually transmitted lesions of condylomata acuminata (cauliflower-like lesions located on the male and female genitalia, caused by viruses so highly contagious both to the patient himself and the sexual partners)
