Treatment of vascular lesions

Treatment of vascular lesions

What are broadband?

Varicose veins of the skin are dilated capillaries, which when located in exposed areas of the skin such as face, legs, create an unsightly effect.

Where are the veins due?

Their appearance may be due to hereditary factors, hormonal predisposition, diseases of the vessel walls, solar radiation, injuries, increased venous pressure in the area and/or prolonged standing.

They appear more often on the face and thighs of women mainly during periods of hormonal disturbances such as during puberty, or pregnancy or menopause. In addition, they can appear on the cervix, sternum, shins, ankles and any other part of the body.

Vascular vessels have a diameter of 0.1 mm up to 1 mm and have a red (red) or blue (blue) color. It seems that more than 4 out of 10 adults suffer from varicose veins.

How does the laser remove varicose veins?

The laser emits a strong pulse of light, lasting a few milliseconds, which penetrates under the skin and is absorbed by the hemoglobin of the blood vessels we have chosen for treatment.

With the application of the treatment, the temperature of the vessel rises, intravascular blood circulation stops and then the vessel is destroyed and gradually absorbed by the body.

For each vessel, different parameters are required in the laser device depending on the depth, color and size of the vascular damage.

How long does the treatment last?

The duration of each session varies from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on the surface of the treated area and the extent of the problem.

Where is the treatment done?

The treatment is done in the doctor's office and the patient can return to normal activities after the treatment.

What are the results and what should I watch out for after the laser application?

The results are permanent and the treated vessels never reappear. However, it is possible for new lesions to appear in other parts of the skin.

Regarding the treatment of varicose veins of the lower limbs with laser, standing for 2-3 days after the session, vigorous exercise and hot baths should be avoided. Walking improves blood circulation.

"The ND Yag laser is a vascular laser aimed exclusively at treating vascular lesions. This is how we can eliminate lesions such as varicose veins – the thin vessels found on the face and nose – cherry-colored hemangiomas – round red like olives that are found on the face or body – and mainly where it offers a very good result is in the vessels which are at the feet. The function of the laser is that it is absorbed by the endothelium, the inner wall of the vessel, and causes the walls of the vessel to stick together, to collapse, and the vessel visually disappears. Because a vessel that is visible is because it has vasodilatation, the walls of the vessel have overflowed and now more blood passes through it and that is why it becomes visible. The treatment can leave very small 'bumps' on the skin which require some regeneration time and is a treatment we would prefer to do in the winter months to avoid sun exposure to get the best possible regeneration from the skin. It is an easy treatment, relatively painless, very effective and even in difficult cases, one – at most two sessions are enough to eliminate the problem.”
