“]Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of alopecia (loss of hair from the scalp) in men. It starts with a specific pattern, usually in the temporal area, then at the top of the scalp and finally these two areas merge. It is due to heredity but also to the effect of androgens on the hereditary "sensitive" hair follicles. There is also androgenetic alopecia which affects women, it has a different pattern of development, but the exact same etiology. There is also androgenetic alopecia which affects women, it has a different pattern of development, but the exact same etiology. The classic treatments we have are:
  • Dietary supplements with vitamins-traces-minerals-amino acids: These provide the "building blocks" of keratin to strengthen the hair (and nails). Thus, the hair grows "bulky" and is stronger and healthier. The head that has now better quality hair looks fuller
  • Minoxidil spray or foam: this medicine locally inhibits an enzyme at the root of the hair. This enzyme is responsible for the conversion of testosterone into a more aggressive form, which "kills" the hair.
  • Finasteride pills: They do the same thing as minoxidil lotion, but are even more effective because they are an internal (systemic) treatment.

Autologous mesotherapy (PRP) in the treatment of alopecia - hair loss

PRP is plasma containing over 300-350,000 platelets/uL. It is isolated by the process of centrifugation, after taking a small amount of blood from the patient (20 to 40 ml). The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment is based on the use of growth factors that are released from the platelets contained in our blood (we cause the release of the growth factors from the platelets using a special activator solution). These growth factors are natural components of our body. These are proteins that are contained in platelets with the ability to enhance the regenerative and anaplastic of tissues that are malfunctioning or have suffered some damage. The growth factors reactivate the adult dormant stem cells of the area (with the ultimate goal of creating new hair follicles), activate the proliferation of cells in the area resulting in better blood supply to the scalp area. The first results which are immediately noticeable are the improvement of the quality of the hair. Strengthening, greater diameter (thickening) and length is observed in the hairs we already have on our scalp. In this way, our head looks fuller as each hair has more volume and shine and health! ALOPECIA (HAIR LOSS) PRP hair loss treatment can be applied to men and women with androgenetic alopecia (a tendency to recede and lose hair due to heredity). The results of the method are completely natural, while there are no side effects since the body's own blood is used (autologous procedure). In addition, the treatment can be applied preventively, as it prevents further hair loss, while strengthening the existing ones. It combines perfectly with the existing proven and effective treatments we have for androgenetic alopecia such as the use of topical minoxidil solution or foam or the use of oral finasteride. The application of the method should be repeated every 4-6 weeks during the first year, and then once a year to maintain the result.[/et_single][et_single icon=”no-icon” tab_title=”
